Hello
one and all,
Well,
the holiday season is in full swing...but I'm already focused on
the New Year! Now is the time to start thinking about the
things you're going to do to make your 2005 spectacular!
To
that end, beginning in January, One-on-One Coaching will be
available to a limited number of stamping business owners (details
below). Group Coaching will continue, as well.
It's
also the time to start thinking about what you're going to do to
make your DOWNLINE'S 2005 spectacular! Some of you have
inquired as to whether or not there was a multi-item discount
available for upline who wanted to buy books, CD's and tote bags
for their downline.
So,
through Christmas Eve, anyone receiving this newsletter will get
20% off any orders of two or more items. To get this
discount, you have to left-click the 'Holiday Special' box below
to go to the website. Your discount will be applied when
you check out.
I
wish everyone a very joyous holiday and a Happy New Year!
Enjoy
this month's newsletter,
John

$100
per Recruiting Phone Call?
|
|
Ask
any stamping business owner what part of their business
they dislike most, and 90% (or more) will tell you it's
getting on the phone to speak with someone about
recruiting.
But
let me ask you this: Would you still hate making
recruiting phone calls if you were getting paid $100 for
each one?
Well,
if you do it right, you are! Think about it.
For every one person you want to recruit into your
business, you have to speak to an average of 12
people. You're going to hear 11 no's, but usually,
you'll get 1 person who signs up.
Now,
if the average downline nets you $1200 in commissions,
then you're essentially getting paid that much money for
the 12 phone calls. In other words...
$100
per phone call!
Makes
those calls a little more appealing, doesn't it?

One-on-One
Coaching Available in January
|
As
I mentioned above, beginning
in January, 2005, I'll be expanding my Coaching services
to include One-on-One Coaching.
One-on-One
clients will meet privately with me every week, by
phone, four times per month. Because of the time commitment
this requires from me, I am limiting
the number of One-on-One clients to five, taken on a
first-come, first-served basis.
One-on-One
Coaching is for those stamping professionals who are
committed to doing what it takes to see rapid results
and dramatic growth.
Unlike
Mentors, who's knowledge is usually limited to the world
of stamping, a Coach knows about the latest
technologies, trends and techniques in the worlds of
business, marketing and advertising, sales, CRM
(Customer Relationship Management) & IT (Information
Technology), and can show you how to apply it to YOUR
world.
If
you want to make a real change in 2005 and think you're ready to step up to One-on-One
Coaching, please call me at 201-653-6482.
We'll set up a complimentary consultation, I'll provide
you with more information and ask you some questions to
help you decide.

Last-Minute
Tax Strategies for 2004
|
Remember,
if you're running your stamping business as a business,
you should be able to claim your business income and
expenses on a Schedule C when you file your 2004
taxes. Here are two things you can do right
now to take advantage at tax time:
1.
If you know you're going to show a profit, and you would
like to bring that number down somewhat (in order to pay
fewer taxes), buy the things you're going to need for
your business in 2005 before the end of this year.
That way, they'll be 2004 expenses and decrease your
bottom line. Remember, this is only for legitimate
purchases.
2.
If you're not keeping track of the mileage you're
driving for your business, backtrack before January 1st
and get it all down on a log. At tax time, you can
then deduct 37.5 cents per mile from your bottom
line. Doesn't sound like much? Well, if you
drove 3000 business-related miles in 2004, you could deduct $1,125!

Carolyn
101 - Business
Lessons from The Apprentice's Straight Shooter
by
Carolyn
Kepcher
Anyone who knows me knows I love The
Apprentice. I enjoy it for the business wisdom it
imparts each week.
In fact, because it comes on right
before my Thursday evening Coaching Group call, I
usually start that call with whatever tidbit I've
gleaned from the show that night.
By all accounts, Carolyn is not only a
level-headed executive, but a wife and mother who has
successfully found that balance between personal and
professional responsibilities.
She shares some of her knowledge about
that in the book, as well as some advice on being a good
team leader and having a success-oriented mindset.

A
Final Thought...
|
Once
again, I'd just like to take a moment to wish all of you a wonderful holiday,
full of love and life, and a Happy New Year. Thank you for making my 2004
so special...for making it a pleasure to wake up every morning and do what I
do. I feel genuinely blessed.
I
truly look forward to continuing my work with you as you all grow even more
successful in 2005!

Business Q&A
What
Do
I
Do If...
I
Need To Book More Workshops?
|
Q: What
do I do if I don't have enough workshops booked for
January and February? A:
Get on the phone! If
you're waiting for your potential hostesses to call you
to book a workshop, you're never going to be as
successful as you would if you picked up the phone to
call them! Remember, active always beats passive! These
are some of the easiest phone calls to make.
Remember, you already have an existing relationship with
them. They've done workshops with you
before. So,
make your calls. Most of them will say no, but it
only takes a few who say yes to change a bad month to a
good month to a great month!
If
you'd like to see your question or situation answered in
a future newsletter, please e-mail it to me.

Testimonials... |
Thanks for (our Coaching session)
today. My calls afterward were so huge that my sales for the month
actually went up AND I got a lead on another workshop for January!
- MD, Chicago, IL
Thank you again for the seminar this
weekend. Your seminars are based on knowledge of the industry and
practical advice. That sets you apart from the others who attempt to share
their coaching and instead only share a vague philosophy. It was time well
spent.
- DM, Edmonton,
AB
