Dear friends,

I hope this newsletter finds all of you well.  I've been having a great time recently, traveling around and meeting many of you at my public speaking appearances.

The more of you I meet, and the more I hear about your businesses, the more I'm convinced that the opportunity you hold in your hands is better than just about anything out there.

I hope this month's newsletter contains a few informational and motivational tidbits to get you to push yourself a little further than you normally would.  You'd be amazed what a difference that little extra step can make!

Warmest regards and much success,

John

Our Next Tele-Seminar:

PUTTING TOGETHER YOUR

STAMPING BUSINESS PLAN

.

The more I speak with stamping demos and consultants, the more I hear the following:

  • "My business is out of control."

  • "I don't know whether I'm coming or going."

  • "I have no idea how much money I took in and how much I spent this month."

Basically, all of these statements are symptoms of the same problem... your operating your stamping business without any structure.

What can give you that structure?  A Business Plan.

If you're going to treat your stamping business like a business, you must have a Business Plan.  A Business Plan allows you to set your short and long-term goals, and develop a roadmap to get there.  With a Business Plan, you'll know what you have to do every week to move forward, AND you'll be able to measure your progress.

In short, a Business Plan gives you the foundation and structure to operate your stamping business.

If you don't have a Business Plan, and you'd like to know how to get one, please join me on Tuesday, April 20, at 10:00 p.m. Eastern for our next tele-seminar:

"Putting Together Your Business Plan"

This hour-long seminar will provide you with the information you need to craft a professional plan for your stamping business.

The call is limited to the first 30 people who sign up.  Anyone with a phone can participate.  Once you sign up, you'll be given the phone number to dial into (normal long-distance charges apply).

The cost to attend this presentation is $4.95 (tax-deductible, of course).

Stamping Business Coaching Group is FULL!

Want to start another one?

.
I'm happy to report we've reached our maximum of 10 stamping professionals to participate in our Thursday night Stamping Business Coaching Group.

If you'd like to be placed on the waiting list for the next available spot, please e-mail me.

Also, I'm thinking about starting a second Group in the daytime.  If I find there's enough interest, I'll move ahead with it.  So, if you'd like to be part of a daytime Coaching Group, please let me know.

In the meantime, you can still join our free SIMB Yahoo! Group.  This is a private, members-only group.  Members must be active demonstrators or consultants within their stamping company.  Discussion is limited to stamping business topics.  To become a member, click here to send an e-mail.

Reminder - Taxes Are Due April 15th!

If you haven't done so already, don't forget to file your taxes by Thursday, April 15th.  And remember, your stamping business is a BUSINESS, so treat it like one on your taxes.  You're entitled to several deductions as a result of your business, and not taking them is like throwing money away.

For more information, you can consult IRS Publication 587 - Deductions for the Business Use of Your Home, and IRS Publication 911 - Direct Sellers.

As always, if you're ever unsure of something regarding your taxes, please consult a professional.

Book Recommendation of the Month

Execution:

The Discipline of Getting Things Done

by Larry Bossidy and Ram Charan

The ultimate difference between a successful company and a less-than-successful on is its ability to execute.  Execution is the 'missing link between aspirations and results.'

Using real-life stories, the authors are very convincing in their idea that execution is the most important aspect of any company's achievement.

Recruiting Alert:

Dream Impressions Goes Out of Business!!

Actually, just out of the direct sales business.

Dream Impressions announced that, as of April 1st, they would no longer be operating at a direct sales company.  They will soon begin to operate as a retail business.

This obviously leaves many DI Consultants without a stamping business.  If you know a DI Consultant, you may wish to contact them about joining you and your stamping company.

Testimonials...

I listen to your CD every day!  When I'm recruiting now, I find myself repeating the things I hear on the CD.

- GM, South Carolina

The book is awesome!  I have a long way to go to make the shift from hobbyist to business owner, but your book has shown me how to do it.

- NB, Arizona
