Dear friends,
I
hope this month's newsletter finds you well. We have lots
to talk about, including our 'new' CD, our new Yahoo! Group, AND
some exciting news about open speaking engagements in your
area.
For
most of the country, it's pretty darn cold, but don't let that
stop you. Keep up the momentum and make your stamping
business a successful one!
Warmest
regards,
John

Starting
this week, I'll be hosting a new Yahoo! Group
specifically for stamping business owners. I'll
moderate the discussion on a different business topic
each week, and members are welcome to ask any questions
or share any challenges they're encountering, as well.
This
is a private group for members only. Members must
be active demonstrators or consultants within their
stamping company. Discussion is limited to
stamping business topics. No crafts-related
questions or swaps, please.

Tips to Keep Your Business Hot...
When
Its So, So Cold
|
 |
|
Don't
let the winter doldrums get you down. There are
LOTS of things you can do to make February and March
huge months for your stamping business. Here are 5
of them:
1.
Make A List...and Use It!
Try
this exercise. Make a list of 100 people.
Friends, relatives, professional colleagues, people who
came to your wedding, people who you give money to,
etc. Once you have your list, call each of them
and tell them about your stamping business. Don't
prejudge and don't be shy. If you make these 100
calls, you WILL increase your business.
2.
Catch Up With Old Customers Everyone
who works with me knows that I believe you should speak,
by phone or in person, to every one of your customers at
least once every three months. So, pick up the
phone and check in with anyone you haven't spoken with
since the holidays. You will book many more
workshops if you do this, instead of waiting for them to
call you!
3.
Write or Revise Your Business Plan It's
the beginning of a new year. The perfect time to
put together your Business Plan. If you already
have one, look back on the previous year and see if it
needs revising. If you don't know how to put a
Business Plan together, there's one in the back of
"Stamping Is My Business!" Remember,
without a Business Plan, it's hard to maintain a
structure for your business to operate within. 4.
Get the Word Out!
Here's
a challenge for you. Identify 10 places in your
area where you could place flyers advertising your
stamping business. If necessary, speak to whomever
you have to speak to and get permission. Then,
post your flyers. Remember to post new ones every
month.
5.
Plan for Spring! Spring
is crafts show time! Identify one or two of the
more popular ones in your area and plan on
attending. Even better, plan on exhibiting.
You'll expose your business to more people in those two
or three days than you would in a month!

A
Word About Speaking Engagements
|
 |
|
We
are in the process of scheduling open seminars in cities
across the U.S. and Canada. However, we will only
schedule where and when we believe there is enough
interest.
If
you would like an open seminar in your area, please send
me an e-mail
and let us know where you are. We'll add you to
our list, and when we have enough requests, schedule the
seminar for anyone who would like to attend.
We
hope that this will benefit demos and consultants who
may not have large enough groups to make scheduling a
private seminar economically feasible.
If
you do have a large enough group, however, we are still
taking bookings for 2004 and 2005.

seminars and workshops.

'New'
CD
Available:
What
Are YOU
Afraid
Of!?
|
|
|
| OK.
It's not exactly new, but when we made this CD available
over the summer, it sold out so quickly, we had to give
refunds to several people.
We're happy to
announce it's available again...and I think we've
ordered enough this time.
This CD covers what
I call The Big 20.
These are the 20 most common fears, concerns or
objections you or someone you're recruiting may have
about starting or running their stamping business.
I go over each of
The Big 20 one-by-one and share some strategies to help
you, or the people you're working with, overcome them.
