Dear
Friends and Colleagues,
He's
here! John Francis Sanpietro was born on May 3, 2007,
weighing in at a healthy 8 lbs, 14 oz! Liz was absolutely
amazing, and mother & baby are doing fine!
How
am I doing? Well, I've changed more diapers in six days
than I have in four decades. I have three or four daily
panic attacks where I believe we're doing something terribly
harmful to the baby, AND the level of sleep deprivation I'm
experiencing is incredible. All pretty normal stuff for a
first-time dad, and I couldn't be happier!
So,
back to work! I'm happy to announce the next free
teleconference call and the next Boot Camp!
The
teleconference call happens on May 22nd and is in response to
some pretty bad ideas I've seen and heard lately when it comes
to pricing your classes and events. We're going to
discuss how to set your prices so you don't hurt your business
OR your fellow demos' and consultants'!
Our
next 4-week Boot Camp is on Marketing & Advertising
and begins June 5th.
Details
for both are below.
As
always, if I can ever be of any assistance, please feel free to
get in touch!
Warmest
regards,
John

The
Next Free Teleconference Call - Practical
Pricing for Profit!
|
Our
next free teleconference call will take place on Tuesday,
May 22nd at 10:00 p.m. eastern!
Practical
Pricing for Profit! will cover the following:
-
How
to determine the fair price/market value for
what you offer
-
How
to set a price that doesn't undervalue what you
do
-
How
to make yourself feel better about the prices you
charge
-
What
to do when a fellow stamping business owner is
charging less than you
-
How
to answer a customer when they question your
prices
-
...and
more!
There
will also be a Q&A period at the end of the
call. You'll have an opportunity to ask questions
on ANY topic you'd like - not just pricing (although
those questions will be given priority).

The
Next Boot Camp -
Marketing
& Advertising!
|
What
would your stamping business look like if you had 50
more customers? 100? 200?
Most
stamping businesses struggle because they lack
customers. Often, a stamping business owner starts
out with a core group of friends and family and doesn't
really expand beyond that.
If
you'd like to attract more customers to your business...
people who don't know you or anyone who knows you, I'd
like to invite you to participate in the Marketing
& Advertising Boot Camp!
The
Boot Camp will take place on four consecutive Tuesdays,
beginning June 5th at 10:00 p.m. eastern (if you can't
make the live calls, don't worry - you'll have access to
the recordings).
Among
the topics we'll cover:
-
How
to identify target markets
-
How
to craft a marketing campaign
-
Free
and low-cost ways to market your business
-
Out-of-the-box
marketing and advertising ideas
-
How
to write effective ads and marketing pieces
-
How
to get other people's businesses to do your marketing for you
-
How
to use marketing and advertising to generate passive revenue
-
How
to convert your new leads into customers
In
addition to the four weekly calls, Boot Camp
members will also receive:
-
Access
to the recordings of all four calls
-
Access
to the password-protected Boot Camp Blog, which will contain additional
information, resources and articles to help
you
-
Access
to SIMB forms to help
you craft your marketing plan
-
Step-by-step
instructions for setting up
a marketing campaign
The
regular cost of the Boot Camp is $54.99, but you can
register for the Early Bird Discounted price of
$49.99 if you sign up by May 22nd! For
more information, or

Get
the Most Out of the Retiring List!
|
Here's
an easy way to increase your Retiring List sales and
profit that only takes five minutes per day and doesn't
cost anything -
Take
a look at your customer list and pick one customer per
day. Then, take a look at your Retiring List and,
based on what you know about your customer, pick a stamp
set you think she'd be interested in. For example,
if I were your customer, you may look for a baby or
nature-themed set.
Then,
send the following e-mail:
Dear
______,
I
was looking over the Retiring List today and saw that
the _____ set is going to be retired as of _____.
I know (you just had a baby/you love the outdoors/your
son plays little league/ etc.), so I thought of
you. I've included a sample made from the set so
you could see what it looks like. If you're
interested in ordering, please feel free to get in
touch.
Go online and find a
sample card using the set. Copy and paste the
sample into the body of the e-mail. If
you send out one e-mail to one customer per day between
now and June 30, you will probably end up with a few
hundred dollars in additional sales! And, even
if you don't, the fact that you were personally touching
base with your customers to let them know you were
thinking about them is excellent customer service that
sets you apart from the competition AND raises your
status in their eyes. Give
it a shot! What have you got to lose?

Worst
Workshop Story of the Month
|
This
month's 'Worst Workshop story comes to us from DC:
"I was desperate to book parties. A
neighbor had a friend I had met at the local
baseball field where my husband played. The
friend said her daughter would love to do a party
and was into scrap
booking. During the pre-meeting,
the daughter was less than excited, but insisted we
could do this since her mother was excited about it.
She said we should do a baby theme since a friend
was pregnant. I created theme invitations and
sent them out for her.
The day of the party, two guest showed up.
The mother had set up her Christmas display of
interior design items she was selling (the real
reason she had pushed for the booking of the party).
The men had gone to get wine, food and party items.
The baby was crying and the two year old decided to
model her wardrobe for the adoring fans.
When the husband arrived, everyone went to the
kitchen and the partying began. It was an
exhausting evening that resulted in a $7 sale total
and the mother wanting to "set up
together" at the ball
field.

Put Your Strengths to Work: 6 Powerful Steps to
Achieving Outstanding Performance
by
Marcus
Buckingham
In
business, one of the keys to success is to maximize your
strengths and minimize your weaknesses. First,
though, you have to identify exactly what those
strengths and weaknesses are. They may not be what
you think!
Buckingham
suggests a step-by-step approach to identifying these
qualities and ways to bring them out (or keep them
back).
A
great book for managers who are trying to bring the best
out of themselves and their downline.

Stamping
Business Q&A
Since
My Catalog Won't Be Good for the Whole Year, Should I
Buy As Many As I Did Last Year?
Yes!
In fact, buy even more!
If
your company is putting out more than one catalog this
year, that doesn't mean you should split the number of
catalogs you purchase between them. It means you
should buy twice as many (or more)!
The
catalog is your best investment! Even better than
stamp sets!
Think
about it... when you buy a stamp set, it costs you about
$15. You show it to your customers and some of
them buy the set. When you sell five sets, you've
made a 20% profit on your investment.
When
you buy a catalog for $4 (or less) and give it to a
customer, you are showing them hundreds of stamp
sets. Most of them will end up buying something
and your profit margin will be significantly higher
because your investment was smaller.
Don't
keep your product line from your customers! Buy
catalogs for everyone, give them out and follow
up! You'll never lose money on your investment!
(If
there's a question you'd like answered, or a topic you'd
like me to cover, feel free

Testimonials... |
Thank
you for all you do, I know you have saved a lot of Stamping Businesses
with the work that you do!
-
CR, Idaho
I
am really excited about Stampin' Up after hearing your talk and purchasing
your book.
Thank you so much for your support.
- LS, Illinois
I
was on both of your Boot Camps and want to say a huge thank you. I
have earned a profit of over $1000 in both January and February due to
tracking my expenses. I was not able to profit more than
$300-500 per month previously. I will again have a profit of
about $1000 in march and am really exited about making real money to
put towards a family vacation.
-
AF, Illinois
Your
live
presentation was a very productive day for the growth of my
organization. Both of my recruits really took in what you shared!!!
One of them always has high expectations and I was very excited to see how
positive she rated the entire day.
-
NH, Illinois
I
have several who are excited and ready to kick back in after (your live
presentation).
