Hello one and all,

I hope this newsletter finds you well.  The picture on the right is something I had to share with you.

This past weekend, I was in California, doing a live presentation for Ann Clemmer.

Ann is also a coaching client of mine, and makes a point of mentioning how annoyed she gets when she reluctantly does something I ask her to do and gets the results I tell her she's going to get.

Well, she surprised me by unveiling this homemade t-shirt to the entire audience this weekend.  I still can't get over it!

Thanks, Ann.  You're the best!

BTW, if you'd like to get in on the fun and set up a live presentation for your group or downline, I have a very limited number of openings in the Fall and the first half of 2007.  Feel free to get in touch with me for more info.

Warmest regards,

John

The Top 3 Recruiting Fears...

and Why You Shouldn't Let Them Stop You!

When you think about having to recruit other people into your stamping business, what goes through your mind?  Are you excited?  Are you scared?  Do those fears prevent you from speaking to as many people as you should about the opportunity?

Well, you're not alone.  Most stamping professionals feel very uncomfortable trying to recruit new downlines.  Listed below are the Top 3 Fears Stamping Business Owners have about recruiting (and why you don't have to worry about them):

1.  They're going to say 'no.'

You're absolutely right!  Some of them ARE going to say 'no.'  In fact, you're going to hear 'no' more than you're going to hear 'yes.'  So what?  Remember, they're not saying 'no' to you.  They're saying 'no' to the business opportunity.  Don't take it personally...and remember - each 'no' brings you one person closer to your next 'yes.'

2.  I'm annoying them.

Not if you do it right.  Recruiting is a process with several steps, and you're potential recruit dictates what you're next step is.  We cover this in detail on the Recruiting 101 CD.  Basically, as long as you go through the process with each prospect one step at a time, you'll never annoy anyone.  .

3.  I don't know who to talk to.

Yes, you do.  Quite simply, you speak to everyone.  Make a list of everybody you know.....then call them.  This is a numbers game.  It's very easy....the more people you speak to, the more people will say 'yes.'  Don't keep people off the list because they don't live nearby, or because YOU think they're busy.  Remember, if you decide someone isn't going to be interested in the opportunity to join you in your stamping business, they won't be...because you'll never speak to them about it.  Don't create self-fulfilling prophecies!

Stamping Business Q&A

How Do I Get More Customers?

Part 1

A Different Kind of Class

One way to attract more customers is to offer untraditional classes.  There are large segments of the population who aren't interested in stamping cards, or even scrapbook pages.  However, those people might be interested in stamping something else.  Offer classes with less traditional projects.  For example:

 - silk scarves

 - picture frames

 - lampshades

 - jewelry

 - walls & borders

 - coasters

 - cups

The list really is endless.  You're only limited by your imagination.

Remember, the more class options you offer, the more likely you're going to offer something somebody will want.

Thank you so much for your live presentation this past weekend.  I am very encouraged.  I've "heard it all before" from other keynote- type speakers, but you broke it down so simply that it seems totally doable.  Thanks again!

- TH, California

Your book and CDs are awesome!  Why hasn't (my stamping company) hired you for our Leadership meeting!?  Everyone needs to hear what you're saying AND how you're saying it!  Thanks for making it so easy!
