Well,
the holiday season is in full swing. You're probably
noticing its a little harder to speak with your customers about
workshops and recruiting. That's normal. Everyone is
focused on the holiday. So what do you do? This is a
great time of year to focus on the internal workings of your
business and make sure that you're running at peak
efficiency. If not, fix whatever you can before the New
Year. Once January rolls around, you'll probably be too
busy!
A
few other things to consider for January:

- Although the deadline to sign up isn't until next
month, I may have to close enrollment before then due to

Is
Multitasking Really Effective?
|
According
to Dr. Marcel Just, neuro-psychologist and director of
the Center for Cognitive Brain Imaging at Carnegie
Mellon, the answer is NO!
Because we
only have so much capacity, when we work on more than
one thing at once, we have to split that capacity.
As a result, we're less effective at both things we're
doing than if we were working on them one at a time.
So, how
can you be most effective? Some tips are below:
1. Establish
Structure! - Set up times when you work on your
business ONLY. Having these 'office hours' also
means that there will be hours when you ONLY focus on
your personal/family obligations, as well.
2. Prioritize!
- You're probably never going to accomplish everything
you have to do every day. If you prioritize what
you have to do, though, you'll get the most important
things done each and every time.
3. Focus!
- Just work on one thing at a time. Do not move on
to the next thing UNTIL you have finished the task
you're working on! You'll get more done seeing
each task to completion than if you bounce around from
task to task.

Direct
Sales Grows Faster Than Retail!
|
|
According
to the Direct Selling Association, direct sales growth
over the last decade has outpaced retail sales growth! Direct
sales has nearly doubled, from $16.55 billion in 1994 to
$29.55 billion in 2003 (the latest year for which
figures are available). Annual sales growth
averaged 7.1% per year! Retail
sales averaged a less impressive growth of 5.4% over the
same period. And,
in case you were wondering, 13.3 million people in the
United States are direct sellers!
