Dear
Friends and Colleagues,
Well, there's no denying it now. The holiday season is
here!
This is a great time for you to generate lots of sales!
How?
Gift certificates, wish lists, holiday cards, bags/tags/wraps...
you name it! There's no shortage of options for your
customers to spend money with you in December!
Speaking of gift
certificates, we now have them available. If you're an
upline looking to buy gifts for your downline that will actually
help them build their business, think about an SIMB Gift
Certificate. They're good for books, CDs, Boot Camps and
everything else we offer!
On the baby front,
young John enjoyed his first Thanksgiving last week (see above)
and will soon be celebrating his first Christmas. He's
still not sleeping, so I'm not sure when Santa is going
to find time to leave any gifts!
Liz, baby John and
I would like to take this time to wish you and yours the very
happiest of holidays. Thanks for helping to make this year
so memorable.
Warmest
regards,
John

Speaking of Gift Certificates...
YOU Should Be Offering Them, Too!
|
According to Nielsen Research, 6 out of every 10 holiday
shoppers will purchase gift certificates and gift cards
this year! If that many people are buying
something, shouldn't you make sure YOU'RE offering it!?
Gift Certificates are a
great way increase your revenues this holiday season.
AND, according to ComScore,
27% of people who receive Gift Certificates don't use
them! Crazy, I know, but it's like making money
twice!
Finally, although I
recommend a one-year expiration date on your Gift
Certificates, check your state laws. Some states
require no expiration date or a longer one.

Come See John LIVE in 2008! |
"John
is the BEST business speaker in our profession!"
- Glenda Travelstead
Speaking of Glenda, we
just returned from her fantastic "Stampers In Stitches"
meeting. It was the first appearance we brought
the baby to, and he did great (he also fits nicely into
the carry-on bag!). Thanks to Glenda for insisting
on the baby's attendance.
We are now
booking dates for the 2008 (and the first half is
starting to fill up).
All
SIMB presentations are designed to inform, motivate and
inspire your downline or group to define their goals and
build their business.
Unlike
many other speakers, however, SIMB presentations are designed
exclusively for stamping professionals - not the
entire direct sales industry. John understands the
unique challenges stamping business owners face,
and is able to address them specifically.
We
also understand the financial difficulties stamping
business owners face and have priced these presentations
accordingly.
John
will share concrete steps everyone can take to make
their business a success - whether they just want a
self-supporting hobby, or a full-fledged stamping
business!
If
you would like more information about booking John for an appearance in
front of your group, send
us an e-mail, or select
here for more information.

Meatball Sundae - Is Your Marketing Out of Sync?
by
Seth Godin
It's no secret that Seth Godin is one of my favorite
authors. His books are easy to digest and they
really make you think.
I've had a chance to read an advance copy of his latest,
Meatball Sundae (available December 27th), and its
another winner.
In this new book, Godin
looks at 14 trends marketers shouldn't ignore. He
discusses the appeal of new marketing and how it can
blind you to the fact that your product may not be quite
so marketable yet. He also looks at how to deal
with the ever-shrinking attention spans of your
customers.
(If you don't believe
attention spans are shrinking,
watch this. The first person to e-mail me to let
me know they're still reading this will win a $10 SIMB
Gift Certificate.)
Another excellent book for your business-building
collection!

Business Q&A
Should I Still Try and
Book Workshops If My Customers Keep Telling Me They
Don't Want Them?
Yes and no.
If
you're having more and more trouble booking workshops,
you should speak with your customers and ask them why
they're not booking. The odds are, they'll tell
you that workshops are, well, too much work.
If
that's the case, make sure you're offering classes for
those customers. They're still interested in you
and your business. They just don't have the time
or inclination to put a workshop together.
Having
said that, you still need to do workshops, especially if
that's the primary way you're getting new customers.
Generally, it's the customers who have already done a
few workshops who don't want to do them anymore.
So focus your efforts for workshop bookings on your
newer customers.
They're likely to be much more eager to have one AND
they're more likely to invite people you've never met
before.
(If
there's a question you'd like answered, or a topic you'd
like me to cover, feel free
to
send
me an e-mail)
