Dear
Friends and Colleagues,
Spring is just
around the corner! (At least that's what they say.
I'm looking at a few inches of snow this morning!)
Now is the time to fill up your
spring calendar. Don't wait until the temps warm up.
If you do, you'll find that many of your customers have other
obligations. If you get on their calendar NOW, then you'll
be the obligation they have to work around!
On a personal note, thanks for all
of the kind e-mails about the pictures of the baby. He's
now 10-months old and does something new every day. My
favorite new thing? If you say 'kisses for Daddy,' he'll
lean in and give you his version of a kiss. It just makes
you melt!
In my never-ending attempts to
please my audience, I was going to dress him as a bunny or
leprechaun this month, but there just wasn't enough time.
:-)
Enjoy this month's
newsletter, and, as always, if I can ever be of service, please
don't hesitate to get in touch!
Warmest
regards,
John

Not Retaining
Your Customers?
Here's How Much That Really Costs! |
We all know how
important it is to consistently find new
customers, but sometimes we forget its at least
as important to make sure we’re providing good
customer service to our existing ones. And
forgetting that can be costly. A 2001 study by
Mark Stevens showed that:
-
It costs
between 5 and 6 times more to attract a new
customer than to keep an existing one
-
Retaining 5%
more customers can boost profits by 25% to
125%
-
Happy
customers tell at least four other people of
a positive experience. Unhappy
customers tell as many as twelve!
-
Two-thirds of
customers do not feel valued by those
serving them
So, ask yourself
periodically, am I providing the best customer
service possible. And if not, what can I do to
change that?

John's Newest Presentation
LIVE in Los Angeles...
or Book A Live Presentation
Yourself! |
On Friday and Saturday, March 14th and
15th, I'll be appearing live in Los Angeles!
I'll be presenting my Marketing & Recruiting Workshop
on Friday, and on Saturday, a
new presentation:
“Get Organized! Running An Efficient,
Stress-Free Stamping Business!”
Both events are open to the public, but seating is
limited! If you'd like more information to register you
and/or your downline, please send me an
e-mail.
Also, we are now booking dates for the second half of
2008 and beyond.
All SIMB presentations
are designed to inform, motivate and inspire your
downline or group to define their goals and build their
business.
Unlike many other
speakers, however, SIMB presentations are designed
exclusively for stamping professionals - not the
entire direct sales industry. John understands the
unique challenges stamping business owners face, and
is able to address them specifically.
We also understand the
financial difficulties stamping business owners face and
have priced these presentations accordingly.
John will share concrete
steps everyone can take to make their business a success - whether they just
want a self-supporting hobby, or a full-fledged stamping
business!
If you would like more information about booking John
for an appearance,
send us an e-mail, or

Blue Ocean Strategy - How To Create Uncontested
Market Space and Make Competition Irrelevant
by
W. Chan Kim
One of the reasons why stamping business owners have so
much trouble marketing is that they're all marketing to
the same groups of people.
Think about... if you
walked down the street and asked 10 people at random if
they've heard of your stamping company, how many would
say they have? Two... one... none?
There are many, many more
people out there who haven't heard of you than you have.
These people exist in the 'blue ocean.' The
markets where there is very little competition.
This book shows you how to
identify those blue oceans and harvest the 'fish'
contained within. An essential goal if you want to
build your business beyond a certain point.

Stamping
Business Q&A
What Do I Do If There Are Too Many Other Stamping
Business Owners On My Mailing List?
In a nutshell… don’t worry
about it!
You lose far more
productivity (and money) on the time you spend worrying
about it than you do having them on your list.
Also, there are lots of
stamping business owners who see other SBO’s as a viable
market. If they’re looking to you for ideas and
inspiration, give it to them… and, if you’d like, charge
them for it!
Lots of SBOs are now
selling tutorials and class plans to their peers.
That’s what I call turning what you see as a negative
into a positive!
And, even if having them
on your list pushes you to the next payment level with
your newsletter broadcasting service, you still
shouldn’t worry. As long as you’re utilizing your
newsletter properly, any money you spend on it should be
a profitable investment, rather than an expense.

there's a question you'd like answered, or a topic you'd
like me to cover, feel free
to
send
me an e-mail)
