Two years old!

Dear Friends and Colleagues,

June is a great month! For many of you, its almost the end of the old year, and the beginning of the new one. Its
the time of year when you have an opportunity to decide what you want to accomplish going forward and how you're
going to accomplish it. Its a time when you can make changes. Get rid of the things that aren't working and try
new things to keep your business fresh... for both you and your customers.

To help make next year your best yet, I'll be doing a free call on Tuesday, June 9th.  Information below.

Are You Thinking Of Raising Your Class Prices?  You Should Be!

 

If you're charging the same price for the same class you were doing before the new catalog came out, and the same number of people attend, guess what!? You could be making less profit!

If product prices increase in the new catalog, your costs will go up, as well. If your expenses go up, but your
class fee remains the same, that means you're absorbing the cost increase and making less money.

Now is the time to raise your fees and pass the price increase on to your customers. If they ask why you're
charging more, explain that prices have gone up and show them the catalog to prove it!

Bad Idea of the Month:

Giving Away the Farm to Travel on the Boat

 

Here are just a few of the "specials" I've seen offered on blogs in the last couple of weeks:

- 50% Off All Orders!
- Come to my scrapbooking class for $75 and get 20-30% off future product orders! (Of course, they're signing up to become a Demo, too, but nobody mentions that)
- Become a Demonstrator and I'll buy you $75 in additional product!

Incentive trips and rewards are things you earn. You don't cheat your way on. And if you do, maybe you need to take a hard look at the business you're running, and make some changes, so you don't have to cheat next year.

Run your business with integrity. Because whether you wake up at home or on the cruise, you still have to look at yourself in the mirror each morning.

if you're selling the same product as 50,000 other business owners, or if there are a bunch of people charging less

What Should I Do With My Retired Sets?

 

Hold on to them.

 

I'm always amazed at how much retired product hits the market at this time of year. 

 

Its understandable, considering how many stamping business owners are out there, but all of that product hitting the market at once really affects what you can charge in a negative way.

 

My advice would be to hold on to your retired product and wait until October to start trying to move it.

 

That way, you'll avoid the deluge of product that hits at the end of a catalog year AND you'll get to take advantage of the holiday season, as well.
