Dear Friends and
Colleagues,
February
is the shortest month of the year. But did you know it's also
one of the most profitable?
It's
true.
For some
people (customers, downline, etc.), it takes a few weeks for
them to get back into the swing of things after the holidays.
Now, however, everything should be back to normal for pretty
much everyone. Couple that with the upcoming Valentine's Day
holiday AND, for many of you, big company promotions, and you
have a winning combination.
So, take advantage of it! Make sure you're getting on the phone
with your customers and downline. Remember, you're not going to
get the business if you don't ask for it!
I'm very excited to tell you we're releasing the first of our
DVD Tutorial Series! The first one is all about how to
use Quicken to establish the financial management system for
your stamping business. I'm doing a Pre-Order special.
Details below.
Finally, with the Winter Olympics just around the corner, I
thought I'd share my own personal Olympic moment with you -
John took his first downhill skiing lesson! Who knows? This
could be the beginning of HIS Olympic career! (It's not as
far-fetched as it sounds. Living near Lake Placid, we actually
have about a dozen people from the area who made the U.S.
Olympic Team and will be competing in Vancouver).
Have a great month. And, as always, if there's anything I can do
for you, please don't hesitate to get in touch.
Warmest
regards,

Uncomfortable Talking About Your
Business?
You Can Learn A Lot From
Children...
|
One
of the biggest problems my clients have is the
discomfort they feel when bringing up their business to
others, or discussing the business opportunity with
prospective downline.
Obviously, if you're not comfortable with having these
conversations, it's going to have a hugely negative
impact on your business.
My 2 1/2 year old son, John, recently taught me a
very simple process for overcoming this discomfort.
That's right. HE taught ME!
Frankly, I am consistently amazed at just how MUCH he
teaches me.
One of my favorite things about my son is how verbal he
is. He's been talking... I mean, REALLY talking, since
he was about 9 months old. And every couple of
weeks, he seems to take these conversational leaps. One
day, he's speaking at one level... then, the next day,
he's at a whole new level.
Over the last several months, I've been watching him in
an attempt to understand his process.
Why?
Because I really believe the way children learn and
respond to different things can be a great teaching tool
for us as adults! The basic process by which we
learn as children doesn't really change much as we get
older. It may be a little more complicated because, as
adults, we tend to complicate things, but it's not very
different.
So, here's the process my son uses to get more
comfortable with increasing his level of verbal
engagement. In attempting to become more
comfortable talking to your customers about your
business... or discussing the business opportunity with
a prospect... see if you can employ this process
yourself:
Step 1 - Listen
One of the reasons John was speaking so well at such an
early age was he was listening to me speak on the phone
all day. You can pick up a lot of words this way.
Action Step for you: Find the words you're
comfortable with. Then...
Step 2 - Say It Out Loud
Have you ever noticed children will often repeat what
they hear? John does it all the time. And it's very cute
(unless we've said something we weren't supposed to say
and we're now hearing it back). In addition to
it's cuteness, it's also an important part of the
process. You have to get the words out of your head
and into your mouth. You have to try them out. See
if you like the way it sounds. See if there are
any difficulties making the words understandable and
convincing. Until you say it out loud, you'll
never know.
Action Step For You: Talk to yourself.
Get in front of a mirror and say the words you'd like to
say to your customers and prospects. See how it
sounds. Then...
Step 3 - Practice
If you just say it once, you're going to forget it.
When John latched on to a new word or sentence, he would
repeat it over and over again. If there was a
particular word he was having trouble with, he would
slow down and work through it until he was satisfied.
Action Step For You: When you find the words you
like, say them over and over again. Work through the
problems and get to the point where you're comfortable
with the way it sounds. Then...
Step 4 - Go for it!
Kids are fearless. You have to be, as well.
John would walk up to us anytime and just start talking.
Trying out new words... repeating old ones.
Putting everything together into sentences. He
demanded our attention.
Action Step For You: Now, you can't just
walk up to anybody, anytime and start talking. Or can
you? Actually, within reason, why not? Be
fearless. Put what you've practiced... into
practice! Speak to your customers and prospects.
You will generate more business by speaking to your
customers than you will if you don't.
Repeat this process as often as necessary, and you may
see your level of customer interaction skyrocket...
along with sales, participation and recruits!

The Newsletter Co-op, Speed
Coaching and YouTube Evaluation Videos...
3 MORE Features Added to the
BSCG! |

We've added three new features to the Business
Stampers Coaching Group to kick off 2010!
1. The Newsletter Co-Op
Are you one of those people who is always struggling to
get your newsletter out on time (or at all)? Do you
often have trouble coming up with informative content
for your newsletter? Do you wish there were a way to
gain access to tons of content with minimal effort on
your part? Well, now there is...
The BSCG Newsletter Co-Op! The newsletter co-op
works like this:
-
you write one newsletter article per month. It might be
a card or scrapbook project, a technique or tool tip,
etc...
-
Once you've written and submitted your article, you then
have access to all of the articles the other co-op
members have written that month for use in your upcoming
newsletter.
-
We currently have over fifty members in the co-op. That
means, you write one article and can then choose from
over fifty for your newsletter.
-
Minimal effort.... Maximum return.
2. YouTube Channel Evaluation Videos
Since more and more stamping business owners are
establishing their presence on YouTube and creating more
and more videos, I've decided to add a monthly
evaluation video of a Member's YouTube video and overall
channel.
We'll look at layout and design of the channel, as well
as elements of the video, such as lighting, camera
shots, commentary, captions and editing.
These videos will be in addition to the weekly
Blog Evaluation and How-To Videos, and the monthly
Facebook, Twitter and Newsletter Evaluation Videos.
3. Speed Coaching
I haven't even announced this to the BSCG Members yet,
but starting in January, I'm going to be holding
periodic, 10-minute 'Speed Coaching' days.
Basically, I'll pick a day and give Members a number to
call. When you get through, you have 10 minutes.
Not everyone will get through every time, but for those
who do, you'll be amazed how much we'll be able to
accomplish in such a short period of time!
- If you're already a member of the BSCG,
you can
sign up for the co-op by clicking here.
- If you're not a member of the BSCG
and would like to find out what it's all about, we offer
a 7-day FREE trial.
Who knows? Next month, YOU may have your next
newsletter finished two weeks in advance!

Linchpin:
Are You Indispensable?
by
Seth Godin
This book is all about passion and how
it drives you. It drives you to come up with ways
to add value where others do not. It drives you to
provide for your customers in ways others do not
It's about how you use your passion to
help set you apart from your competition. How you
use your passion to make yourself, well, indispensable.
I'm a big Seth Godin fan, and I'm quick
to recommend all of his books.
Honestly, though, it does seem like this
book was written with the stamping business owner in
mind. I really think you're going to want this on
your shelf.

Stamping
Business Q&A
How
Do I Balance My Business Obligations With My
Personal Ones?
Two
words... time management!
Too
many stamping business owners try and do everything at
the same time. This type of 'multi-tasking' is
actually counter-productive. In order to be most
effective, follow these steps:
1.
Set up your business hours.
2. Work only on your business during those hours (NO
multi-tasking!)
3. Do NOT work on your business outside of your business
hours. That's the time you set aside for
everything else.
4.
When working during your business hours, use a
prioritized to-do list and work on each item
one-at-a-time.
If
you can follow these steps, you should find you're
getting more done in less time... freeing up time for
your personal responsibilities, as well!
(If
there's a question you'd like answered, or a topic you'd
like me to cover, feel free
to
send
me an e-mail)

Testimonials... |
Wow! I just finished your
Two-Week
Tune Up. I learned more on those two calls than I have at any three
of (my company's) events combined! I'm not going to another (company
event) until you're on the agenda!
- JC, Michigan
Can I confess that I've known about the
Business Stampers Coaching Group for
months, but didn't think it would be worth the cost? Well, (taking
the free trial) I've learned differently. Thanks for giving me the
opportunity to learn the difference.
- CM, Nova Scotia
I am so tired of Demos trying to push their
'Business Consulting' services on other Demos. If they were really
that successful, or knew what they were doing, they'd be helping their own
downline. Not trying score a quick buck off their sister
Demos by copying you. Thanks for being the original... and the best!
-
MD, Ohio
Thank you so much for your
YouTube video about
market saturation! I had a couple people who were on the fence
about signing up. I showed them your video and it pushed them off
the fence!

CB, Washington
